If Your Venue Has a Sound System
Erik will bring his own microphone (Schoeps CMC6, microphone with the MK41super-cardioid capsule.) He will need one short boom stand. No monitor is needed (don't forget the chair) and
you're DONE!
Tech For "Taking Trips To America"
Show Description:
Erik Friedlander performs original music, shows images and films, and tells stories. He sits on piano bench, with a laptop
nearby, playing the cello and cuing images/films using a laptop and a MIDI foot-
pedal.
Show length: 55 mins.
Equipment
DLP Projector:
Resolution XGA , SXGA, SXGA+ (1400 x 1050)
Brightness:
- For houses 100 seats and less, 3000 lumens
- For houses with 100-300 seats, 4500 lumens
- For houses with 300-500 seats, 6000 lumens
Mac Powerbook Laptop w/Keynote
- Must be able to connect to projector (must reach stage area)
- Must have USB
VGA connector to projector for PC Laptop (must reach stage area)
Screen - 22' x 16'
Screen should be close in size (call/email if substantially smaller
than stage)
Piano bench
Piano bench or similar flat chair (same height, no angle in seat)

Small table for laptop - 1-2' in height
Sound:
- 1 XLR line for mic (I will bring my own Schoeps Mic)
- 1 mini-plug line from laptop for occasional sound (top of the show only)
- 1 Wireless Headset Mic
- Short mic stand for your Schoeps cello mic - CMC6 body with MK41 super-cardioid capsule
Misc Sound: Sound tech should have the ability to cue sound from sound board for one short segment -- i.e., play file using iTunes if necessary.
Please provide reverb for cello microphone.
Staging:
- Piano Bench off center stage right
- 6x6 drum rug
- table lecturn on floor DSR for Macbook/pc laptop
Lighting:
front, high side and back light on your cello area; focused high enough to cover you when you stood but staying off screen so image not washed out
3 looks:
- 1) brighter, saturation - to highlight you when you were playing without image
- 2) dimmer look to not distract the eye from the image
- 3) added front light for when you stood up to talk
